            It’s not WW II German if that is the kind of information that you are looking for. I’m not a “world” collector. But that kind of slot in the pouch for a scabbard stud/attaching piece is seen on some Italian, Austrian, French, (etc.) frogs.

            But if I could hazard a WAG I get the sense that it might be Romanian. Which (unfortunately) is not an area where I think that a lot is known. My reason being that the depressed area just below the slot is wide like a Vz24 frog stud. And Romanian had a lot of Vz24 rifles/bayonets. FP
