NSKK dagger

Hello,

I've just been offered a rather beat nskk dagger from a guy ive done dealings with in the past in Germany. Unfortunatly the big negatives are it's missing the eagle and sa spot off the handle. it's got the scabbard and hanger. it appears to be an early one as there are gau markings (Nrh) and makers marking F. Herders(?)-Solingen (with the 2 crossing keys). can I get an estimated value for this as I dont usually deal in daggers.

I'm not a high end collector so this would still appeal to me...

I think an eagle is selling for around $25.00 and an SA rune, (I'm guessing), around $50.00.

Providing there's no sharpening on the blade and the tip's okay, considering the condition from the 2 photos provided, I would say the dagger is worth around $400.00 in today's prices.

Hi Scott,

Personally I would save you money and buy an NSKK in good shape.

It is difficult to find grip eagles and SA Roundels and even if you do it will be an obvious replacement in the grip when they are in.
If you ever wanted to re sell the dagger , you would struggle to get a reasonable price.
