Hello very similar design was made by Bulgarian postwar fighting knives, they made them from normal WW2 german 98 bayonets, the pommel was little different, Could You send us the details of marking of Your bayonet and scabard, maker code, Year and serial numbers with letters.Thanks.Andy

Hi Andy, the scabbard of the Bulgarian knives is for sure K98, I have seen the WaA stamp on the ball on the end of the scabbard. As for the knife itself, can not say for sure. It has too many differences compared to the German bayonet. Maybe blades were used... but still unsure. The grips are similar to the K98, but hot thesame, only a bit similar, never seen so far such a knife with K98 grips. Here are some images that I "borrowed" from a local forum:

Hi Theodor, thanks for information, it must exist a older design as this, while i have seen in last time a many upgrades in similar way from normal SG84/98 bayonets, where the blade and scabbard was shortened, many of the scabbards have normal frog stud any have the SVT or AK47 attaching belt. Have You any information about it? best regards,Andy

Hello Andy, the marking of the bayonet and scabard are the same, clc44 and b6555.
