K98 bayonet "U" stamp (?)

I just got this cof44 marked bayonet in and noticed the "U" stamp on the scabbard. Does anyone know what this means? I've never seen it before.

The scabbard is for the CZECH model 24 bayonet...BILL

I believe when the scabbard is not 30 cm long it could be from a belgian export bayonet or austrian bayonet, dont looks like czechoslovak Vz.24. Could You send serial number and letter of Your cof44 bayonet? Thanks,Andy
