    SA Dagger Eickhorn 1939

This one came in today. But I've seen some red flags on this one.

It looks like the eagle in the grip is not the original one.
And the Crossguards don't look original in my eyes, at the "big" crossguard the blade doesn't fits good just like the scabbard.
    Ring is missing.

Motto and Makermark are looking good to me.

There is a narrow gap between the blade/scabbard and the crossguard.

                That's a part dagger.
A transitional dagger assembled with nickel plated crossguards, probably post war, and with a post war handle provided with an early good nickel silver eagle and a good SA disk: maybe in that time these transitionals were provided with nickel silver + nickel plated fittings also, but on these one this is for sure the definitely red flag of a part dagger, due to the fake handle and, I think, the crossguards. The blade seems good, but a pic of the tang could help.
Try if the nut is magnetic (I think so).

The dagger is good , no problems.Often we can see on late eickhorn SA's nickel ensembled insignias in the grip.Eickhorn was a big maker and had a big inventory .

I would not be too quick to say this is a parts dagger. I have seen many transitional Eickhorns with nickel silver crossguards and grip eagles as these were made at the end of nickel silver parts and can be a mixture. Also, the fit of the scabbard can be from springs moving in the scabbard, so would have to have it in hand to be able to tell forsure.

Its not in the best condition,, But I dont see anything that jumps out as a "parts dagger".

Looks like an honest well aged transitional SA to me.
