Question on rural police bayonet numbers

I just picked up a nice stag handle police bayonet made by carl eickhorn.The bayonet & scabbard are marked PBd.296.As far as I can find out the PBd stands for Brendenburg Havel Police School.Could anyone tell me what the number 296 would represent?
