    Two dagger question's

I have two questions considering edged wapons:

First: What's a Whermacht officer sable worth in medium condition?

Second: What's a rifle association dagger worth?

    A BIG thx in Advance

Without some type of photos, your question is almost unanswerable. I've never heard of a rifle association dagger.

      Hi Larry

I have no pictures, but the sable is like I said in medium condition, so it's not top mint or total crap, it's something in between. And here is a picture from the dagger I'am talking about (it's not this dagger).

I really need some guide-prices on these...

The dagger you posted is actually hunting association. There are numerous varieties on hunting association pieces and the price varies (a lot) accordingly. The saber would depend on maker & model. I really don't feel comfortable throwing out prices that could easily vary several thousand sollars each way.

            Nick,

As Larry mentioned without pictures it's impossible to give you a realistic price range.

Going on what you say a general price range for the Army saber could be in the $100 - 500 range. Unusual styles, etched blades, damascus blades, personalizations, presentation dedications or rare makers as well as overall condition would certainly affect the price.

The Forster/Jager/ Schutzen Hirschfanger prices can range from $200 to over $10,000 depending on what era, positive identification of what type, maker's marks, the level of quality, damascus or carbon steel blades, dedications, hangers and portepees, etc.

Without clear pictures it is just not possible to answer your questions any better.

            All the best,

            Tony

Ah Tiger I, but you did answer my question. Now I know what I can bid on these items. I knew the dagger was rare. Like I said I have no pictures. the dagger looks the same as the picture I posted, except it has a little mini dagger with it... About the sabre, I think I'll bid 250 euro. Thx for the input here guys...

Keep in mind that the cutlass you posted is a reproduction.
