    k98 locking lug

    Hi,
Need instructions on how to replace a k98 bayonet locking lug. Anybody know of a site or have personal experience? Don't need to take anything off, just putting in a missing lug.

    thanks!

    VonLuck,

If you are asking about the attaching assembly in the pommel of the S84/98 bayonet (the ususal bayonet that fits onto the bayonet lug on the stock of the K98 carbine) perhaps I can help.

This assembly consists of a slotted press button, a spring, and a catch. The catch fits into the reverse side of the pommel with the flat end at the top and the rounded end at the bottom. The threaded stud on the catch protrudes through to the obverse side of the pommel. Place the coiled spring over the round stud and screw the press button onto the threaded part of the stud to secure it. You may have to carefully stone the catch or press button to make certain they clear the pommel and operate freely.

Thanks Schupo, that's just what I needed. Now I just need to wait for the part to arrive.
