Nice dagger with transistional characteristics I think. It looks that the scabbard is the early anodized version and the dagger is 1938 RZM?

                  Regards, Theo

Congratulations on your dagger It looks very nice.

Maybe because of the flash, but has the grip and scabbard been varnished, as they look very shiney? (But then this could be because I can only afford an Exc+ dagger too!)

                    Thanks for sharing your acquisition!

                      hello

                      thanks for your wishes

here some pictures from the grip

it looks like vanished but i cant believe

also the writing on the scabbard is in the material and i can feel it when i put my finger on it

so the vanished has to be made before 38?

                        pictures

here you can see that the wood is without vanished

                        i think its original

                              Hello rove,
your dagger is very interested .All dagger atributes speaks not for a transistional dagger , no the dagger looks as an early piece : nickle fittings, handmade grip in beech wood ,nickle insignias, mirror blade, anodized blade , ... . All parts looks good , specific the inscription looks as an "Thüringer-maker"-the long letters we can see also on "Malsch" Sa daggers.I have never seen before this maker mark .My concern is the fit grip-to lower crossguard and we can see a grinding relief angle on face ! What is this - housemaking by the owner ?.The lower crossguard is a typical suhler with the low level , but the grip looks to big .Is there a gaumarking ?
