Karl Graz 1st model Luftwaffe dagger

Hi Guys

An interesting one on the Luftwaffe side !!!

I have an opportunity to purchase a Luftwaffe Dagger 1st Model with nickel silver fittings and portepee with the engraving "Karl Graz" and "JG52" on the top fitting.

The only problem in my mind is that as far as I can ascertain Karl was only promoted to an Officer at the end of 1944 when he became Staffelkapt.

Is it possible that he would own a first model dagger as an NCO and does anyone have a picture of Karl Graz wearing this particular dagger.

I would appreciate any feedback !

No problem. One of my 1st model Luft's is engraved to an NCO. I had another as well that wan NCO too.

I for one think the Germans were a lot less concerned with protocol on something like this than they were with personal preference and/or what looked good.
