        IMO a "phantasy"-item ...

There´re enough fighting knives manufactured in many, different, pattern models in Germany during WWII.

Also leftover WWI German trench knives and knives, manufactured from the 20ies on, till in the mid 30ies were available for the soldiers ...

Also huge stocks of "captured" french and dutch fighting knives were used in the Wehrmacht, till German made combat knives were introduced.

As Jenko said, I do not wanna own this particular "knife" either ...

BTW, if a German soldier captured a Fairbairne-Sykes he´d better not to destroy the dagger by adding a bulky hilt ...

What I am trying to figure out is if the pin is from a ss dagger or is it a civil pin.

You see thats what I'm talking about,,,,As Jenko said, I do not wanna own this particular "knife" either ...is that really necessary?? I see that in a lot of post these days, cant figure out why people are compelled to say that. Back to the knife...Ive seen knives with big balky plexiglass handle. I have been to hundreds gun shows an I have seen altered knives, guns, Trench Art?? I dont think the tab came out of an SS dagger it just to big.

                    Yes, as I sayed, "Phantasy-items" ! ...
Furthermore, You never, ever can say, when this was done ! ...

If you mention "trench art", what is "trench art" ?
                    Please, explain !

For example, in my collection I do have an Austrian, (Kuk), 1917 pattern fighting knife.
A soldier carved a design and the year 1917 into the wooden grip plates, this, IMO, is "trench art" !

I´m collecting trench knives and fighting knives for quite a while and believe me, I saw a lot of Rot and most of this Rot was f...... expensive !

You have a good point there, I agree. It has the age on it, but like you said don't know when it was made. So were back to square one. I'm just trying to sell something that was in my fathers collection. the more I can learn the faster I can sell. Thanks Dan
