    Sawback Bayonet Question

I just got this from an estate sale and I was wondering what the knot represents. It's pretty cool , it's dated 1915 and says " Alex. Coppel Solingen" at the bottom of the blade. I also got a killer iron cross with it

          awo41,

Your knot is an Imperial period bayonet Troddel for enlisted men. It appears dirty, but if it is all white (grey) it indicates the 1st Company of the Ist Batallion of a regiment. I hope this helps.
