Police NCO Sword with SS Knot Price Question

Hi All,
I just found a nice unmarked Police NCO sword at a antique mall. It has a unmarked blade and a SS knot on it. Here is the question, what kind of money does the range in? It is in real nice shape save aging. The owner has $975 on it, and I think I can get it for about $880.

As is so often the case, originality and condition always determine the price. If both are original and untouched, the $880 price would be okay. The knot - again if it is real and hasnt been messed with - could easily be worth more than half that amount
