      Hi Maarten

I have 2 concerns with this dagger.

Firstly, the grip wire is usually the "springy" type on Weyersbergs, and also the wire does not enter the grip though a small hole, which the one you show appears to do.

Secondly, Weyersberg 2nd Lufts usually have a Waffenampt stamping above the maker's mark. All the period Weyersbergs I have seen have this mark...

These were reproduced in the 60's with this makers mark, so I would be fairly cautious with this one. Another give away on the copies is a fient seam on the sides of the scabbard, take a carefull look...

        Total fake I am afraid
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'
