I will try to say the good points and typical Alcoso Army on your dagger .
1.The complete pommel with this typical oaks .
2.The scabbard bands .
3.The scabbard screws .
4.The blade is genuine ,
but i do not have seen this crossguard before .When we look on the backside , then i think there are two different colours between crossguard and pommel .May be , Denny Roach or an other knowledge collector on field army's can say more about this x-guard.
The portepee is good .
The hanger is good and very rare .That are only my opinion .
Regards.

ALCOSO Army
I agree with tobau. This looks like an authentic ALCOSO product. The crossguard, while showing quite a bit of wear, looks to be Alcoso's 2nd style. The "odd" looking head on the eagle is the 1st thing I noticed. I think the dagger is a good ALCOSO example (except for condition).

ALCOSO Army
To be honest w/you. 210 lbs/$386 USD is a little high to pay for an Army in this condition. Overall condition, to me anyway, is only at good- due to the spotting on the blade and wear to the rest of the dagger & scabbard. You'll see that when and if you were to try to sell it. It's best, in my guesstimation to buy the best conditioned pieces available UNLESS rarity is involved. An ALCOSO is pretty common stuff. Having said that, we ALL do it though, buying less conditioned pieces from time to time. Enjoy it for what it is, an authentic ARMY dagger.......
