Auto Sol - OK to clean with

I bought a couple of bayonets recently that could do with a clean up on the blade area.

Someone suggested the product 'Auto Sol' to use, is this OK.

If not what is the best cleaner.

Hi Andy, Auto Sol is fine to use, go for it. It's the equivalent of Simichrome that the American's use but obviously it's easier for us to get hold of in the UK. Just don't polish in one area for too long, keep it all even and do it lightly. Cheers, Scott

Autosol is very similar to Simichrome but they are not the same product. I find that Autosol is more abrasive. Go very lightly with it and if used on a blade with crossgraining make sure you work with the grain.

Dont use either product on etches or maker marks.

Auto Sol

This product will give it a dull finish when used in place of Simichrome on bright metal objects, especially natural polished and unplated dagger blades.
