Hi guys, I just yesterday traded into this SS M33 dagger from a good friend. Its been a long time(15 years)since I have acquired any daggers and my experience was from the 70s and 80s. I need your expert advice about this one as to whether the blade in particular has any questions that need to be addressed. My friend bought this SS and an SA dagger with anodised scabbard maker Tiger and some misc. small things. I wont bore you with the vet story that came with them. The SS anodized scabbard is heavily rusted as was the SA. The fit is perfect, blade to scabbard..like butter. What I am wondering about is the Boker trademark. Looking thru a loop some of the lines bother me. THere are some spots of corrosion on the mark..bottom of the O and on the word Solingen. Would you guys that have the first pattern Boker TM look at yours and see if at the top of the mark on the inside lines as they curve down, is there a break in the line on both sides near the top like mine has? Also below the tree base where lines curl together, some people refer to an "H" being formed in the design but here the circles come together without a bar to form an H. Again at the base of the tree, the line that forms the "football" shape that surrounds the tree, should the line break on the lower right part of the line(the line is just to the right of the base of the tree and where the banner that surrounds the word Boker attaches to the oval shape surrounding the tree) Under extreme magnification, there are some tiny flaws in the lines,,places where the line gets thin or tiny gaps. I have seen this in other etched trademarks too over the years on good pieces. I just wonder if this one sends off big red flags. ITs uncleaned and the age on the crossguards and scabbard are matching and unquestionable. I just wonder if its possible that its a good dagger with a bad blade? Check the Meine Ehre Heist Treue etching too. Its very dark with virtually no wear. Apparently this is a Boker characteristic. I dont know. THe etching on the motto is quite deep into the steel. There is a roman numeral ! for Nordost in the rev. center of the crossguard below the Boker mark. Hard to get it to show. I have not tried to take it apart to check the tang and crossguard marks. If its bad I can return it. I would like to keep it if good even with the poor scabbard as its one of the few I have had that was uncleaned and apparently untouched. My question to you is the Boker trademark authenticity and the motto. I dont think there is much question about the other parts. Am I being too paranoid..can you be too paranoid with these Thanks for any advice or help on this one.

John:thanks for the tip about the pimpling typical on Boker marks. I dug out some of my SAs and other daggers and see similiar defects under extreme magnification too. I didnt have a doubt about it yesterday but wanted to see what you all thought about it.
Hi Ade: thanks for your good feeling about it too. Your making my day so far Thanks especially for the info on the numeral 1. Can you shed more light on that unit for me? Landy
