    K98 Bayonet Waffenamt Question

I just recently got a bayonet and have a question about the Waffenamt marking on the handle. It is WAA 353. Does anyone know what manufacture this number is indictactive to? On the blade it has W.K.C. Appreciate any help, I am a noob to bayonets. Thanks.

      Bayonet

      Mike,
That would be formerly Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. and later WKC
      Stahlwaren und Waffenfabrik Gmbh, Solingen.

Andy, it has a 38 on the top of the blade near the tang. On one side of the blade it has W.K.C. and on the other a serial number 1294 with a lowercase d underneath it. On the handle there is a seperate number... Is this for what weapon it went to? This number is 4184. It has Waa 253 on the handle and on the button that conects it to the weapon. Gonna try to post pics, not very good at it...lol

              Regards, Mike

Hello Mike, thanks for details, Your piece was produced from Weyersberg&Kirschbaum CO,Solingen in 1938, as 1294d piece, the other serial number 4184 is on crossguard? or on pommel? WaA253 should be have straight wings eagles stamps above. The bayonet is matched with scabbard? Thanks.,Andy
