Blade marked WKC is 100% good, but I'm not certain about the rest. The blade and the other parts might not belong together. Check the pics and let me know what you think.

I have never seen a pommel like that before with the lines between the circles. It certainly isn't WKC - no pebbling.
I don't like that crossguard at all - eagles head appears to be too low, the feathering/oakleaves are very poorly executed and soft edges everywhere.
Are you sure that the blade is ok?
Cheers,
David. At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

Looks a bit like a Pack... but I don't like it.
Can we see the crossguard reverse panel?
Also the scabbard?
Is the wire a single strand or 2 strands? What I mean is are there 2 wee holes at the top where the wires come out and 2 at the bottom of the grip, (a double thread), or a single hole at the top and one at the bottom?Last edited by lakesidetrader; 03-02-2006, 05:09 PM.

Well, neither the crossguard or the pommel is WKC, at the very least I would say they are suspect. Never seen a pommel like that one, I do not particularly like the plating on the top of the crossguard, almost looks to be brush plated. The wire wrap is not the type usually seen on WKC product. BTW that is a double start wire wrap. Just too many red flags here. I would not buy it, there just too many textbook pieces around to roll the dice on this. Too often I hear of collectors going for the bargain with that wee thing that bothers them. Price is soon forgotten and inevitably the wee thing keeps bothering them and never goes away....

I totally agree with you boys. I 100% sure that its a partdagger. I have searched and searched and found no pommel like this, BUT no repros like this either. The crossguard I have found almost identical, mostly on unmarked blades.
I think the quality is equal to wartime production. My concern is that the metalfinish is more yellow than silver, almost like it had coat of laquer on it.

If the grip is solid material (not plaster or wood filled) then there is a 99.9% chance that the grip is post-war. With very very few exceptions, all period white grips should be plaster or wood filled. The exception are ivory grips, galalith grips (they have lots of micro-cracking on the surface of the grip), and one or two solid white plastic grips I have seen in my study on grips. Safest bet: if it's solid, and it's white, run away!
