Hello there,
I hope you guys can help me out..
A few weeks ago I was on a militaria show overhere in Holland and found a nice looking Henckels made trench knife.
It was pointed out to me by a college collector who recognised the model as being a private purchase item that was allowed to be worn by Dutch officers who hadn´t received a official Dutch m1917 trench knife ( stormdolk) in the years prior German occupation.
The seller told the same story an said on some period pictures these knives are shown.
I´ve been doing some searches around the internet and have asked some old time collectors about this type of knife but none of that helped me out..
So what I´d like to know iff any of you guys can tell me anything about this knife and/ore any known Dutch connection...........a period picture showing this knife being worn by a Dutch officer would be very welcome to!
I´m starting to think this could be just a nice stormdolk look alike....and not what I bought it for..
The picture show a normal Dutch stormdolk to compare the diffrences and simularities.
I hope you guys can help me out..
