    DLV/NSFK Dagger

I am being offered this DLV/NSFK dagger maker marked "F&A HELBIG STEINBACH KRM". It is not perfect and has a few flaws as you will see in the photos. There is some pitting, dings and the leather is gone from the hanger. What would be a fair price to pay for this dagger? Any and all opinions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks, Jay

There is some pitting on the blade at the top of the blade near the gaurd. No rust? Just pitting. Do you think the pitted area was cleaned?

This is the mark on the throat of the scabbard. Sorry, I could not take a better photo.

I am always reluctant to offer my thoughts re: value in a case like this, as the condition is such that someone wanting one for a collection will likely hold out for a better example. With that said, my guess would be in the $750.00 range.

              Hope that helps

It really doesn't look that bad from the pictures (Handle and Scabbard look nice).
I think Skip's estimate is correct at the $750 range if you want one for the sake of owning one and not as an investment.

                  Thanks

Thank you Scott and Skip for your replys. I am not a dagger collector, but will pick them up to trade or sell for helmets. Based on your estimations on price, I think I will be able to buy this one and still give some forum member a good deal on the dagger. It looks much better in person. Unfortunately, my camera sucks and I and my picture taking abilities are not much better. Thanks again, Jay

$750 was my pick, before I saw the other replies. Just remember though, that this price is, I believe, a retail price, and one that you might not see obtain on the e-stand.
