    RZM SA Daggers; Opinions Please

    Hello to all,

I've recently purchased this SA Dagger and can return it if needed. You guys have been most helpful with my other purchases and I think I've learned a little, however, this is my first RZM late war dagger and I would greatly appreciate your comments.

I'm concerned about the fit of the scabbard to the lower crossguard; it fits great on the obverse but very poorly on the reverse. Is this typical of the late stuff? Also, there is some roughness under the plating on the bottom scabbard mount; is this something about which I should be concerned? Who was the maker? Is it worth $325?

    Thanks in advance.

    Harvey

The dagger looks correct for me. Dagger from Eichorn (M7/66)
But poor quality of handles' eagle..

                      Hello Harvey,

your dagger looks good and is 100% genuine .The fit to the scabbard can be , no troubles , remember the date 1942 is very late .The grip eagle looks grinded from wearing .
In my opinion , the dagger and scabbard is for a late issue eickhorn in a very good shape .The price is ok .
Add a hanger to the dagger and it's a good display.
                      Regards.

Because these daggers had a lot of hand fitting, if it's been disassembled at some point, someone may have put the upper crossguard fitting on backwards. I'm somewhat confused how the grip eagle is worn more than the rest of the dagger. Not that it's a problem, just somewhat unusual. Overall, a nice piece.

Harvey, A very decent example of a late SA dagger. In image # 3 there is what looks like a break/discontinuity in the nickel plating on the cross guard that appears to be somewhat reddish. Are the cross guards magnetic? Regards, FP

Looks to be a typical, later production SA in pretty nice gondition. If you are only going to have one SA dagger in your collection, you will most likely want one of the earlier production, maker-marked pieces someday. If the price is right and you are okay with the piece, it looks like a keeper.

Looks fine. Sometimes, a dagger just needs a good shove to get the snug fit. Could be a switched around guard kike Larry said, but I thinks it's OK and is worth the money..
