My new dagger an out of the woodwork uncleaned unmessed with Eichorn Luftwaffe Dagger with hangers and portepee.

Nice looking dagger John. The portepee looks like a Heer one. Any photos of the hangers?

While I normally hate messing around with "as found" items, I don't think it would be a big sin to replace the Heer portepee with a Luft. That's one fine looking piece, and it's somewhat unusual to find that much gold remaining on the swaz on an Eickhorn. Nice find!

Nice find John. I agree with Larry. I'd keep the Heer protepee aside and replace it with a nice Luft one.

Thanks gentlemen. As many of you know im a cloth and combat guy so I dont think it will be staying with me too long. Although compared to those things this actually is a work of art not difficult to enjoy it.
