Hi Torsten, the dagger looks to be original, but the condition does leave a lot to be desired. With NSKK daggers the main thing to check is that the scabbard paint is original and not just an SA scabbard repainted black. I am not too certain what is the case here from the photos provided. I am not too cluded up on values today on these, but I think a good NSKK here in the UK will be around the £300 plus mark? So for this one I would really want to pay about half that. But to be honest I think I would pass on it altogether? The blade might clean up a little, but the plated crossguard on the reverse is not too good at all.
Cheers, Ade.

I'm with Ade...a dagger is almost never a good impulse buy and one in this condition is best left where it is.

Hi Torsten, I agree with the rest on coindition, however in reference to what Adrian said about repainted SA scabbards-they did do this for the NSKK, and we referred to them as "dip" jobs. I have one right out of the woodwork that literally looks like the "SA" scabbard was dipped in black paint1 But i9n my opinion most of the RZM NSKK's came with black scabbards that were so to say "factory" done by the manufacturer of the blade...Cheers...Jeff
