    Dagger Hanger identification please!

    Hi,
    I intend to sell these hangers on the estand but there is some debate over their origins/type. I think that they are heer hangers, with a slightly greener shade of backing than normal. There is no reaction to UV.

    They are not;
    a: DDR
    b: Land Customs

    Thank you in anticipation - sorry if you have already seen them and commented.

    The fittings and facing material would suggest Heer, but the shade of green on the back is way off. You'd have a hard time selling them to me as Army hangers.

    Sorry I can't be of more help,

      There are plenty of post-war assembled hangers using (mostly in this case) original components. Many of these "mint" examples that people find are post-war assembled.

        Thanks Jeff - can I assume then that these hangers are (at worst) post-war assembled from original components, and at best original WW2 era but with a lighter green than normal? If this is the case, what would they be worth as I intend to sell them.

          John, the green backing is unfortunately not just a shade lighter than normal, it's way off. It's even going to be difficult to sell as a reproduction due to this issue. Your hangers just aren't a close match to any organization I'm aware of. Because originals generally average somewhere in the $100 range. I would be surprised if these would command more than a third of that. Good luck, but you've got a tough row to hoe.
