    Klaas heer dagger with painted grip

    Hello, i was offered this dagger, a Klaas heer dagger with painted black grip.
    is everything OK with it? Is the pommel correct for this dagger?

      I like what I see, generally speaking. Judging from Tom Wittmann's Army dagger book, however, the inside of the pommel would appear to be a "A pommel" with 12 leaves and used by Eickhorn, Gustav Spitzer, Tiger and Pumawerk. According to Wittmann, Klaas would have used a "C pommel" with 14 leaves and a different interior, "Exploring the Dress Daggers of the German Army", page 114.

      Whether or not the Bahnschutz used a black grip Army style dagger in 1935-1938 is the subject of much debate, depending on whom you ask. A lot of guys don't believe the so-called 1st model Bahnschutz ever existed and attribute it to dealer and collector stories. Whatever they are, they're a legit period variant and desirable.

          Yes, pommel is generic type A. IMO it should be generic type B like crossguard.
