Eickhorn Full Röhm Review

Hi all,

full Rohm here for review, crossguard doesn’t appear to have a Gau mark. I know this is possible but is it seen on any Eickhorn Röhms? The main question being is on inscription genuine and period?

That SA-NSKK Rohm dagger looks promising: all the correct Eickhorn features are present.
However, much better pictures of the inscription, the maker mark and the motto are needed to give it a final approval.
The missing "gau" stamp is not a big issue.
Does it has a bench mark?

The dagger looks to be Eickhorn enough, better detailed pics of motto and dedication will help tremendously because that's where the money is.

I've only ever seen one without an SA group mark. I couldn't think of any reason why one would have not been stamped--any hypothesis?

Lacking the SA group marking, the hypothesis is that these examples were presentation examples. The thoughts among advance collectors are that approximately 5% of the SA Rohm Honor SA daggers were un-stamped as these examples were presented in-hand, rather than the majority in a groupe distribution.

I bought my very first dagger in 1997 at the auction of my great uncle's estate. He was a WWII vet and had an E. Pack SA Ground Rohm. It has no SA gruppe stamp. I still have it to this day.

Interesting points regarding the SA group stamping. I’m still waiting on more pictures of the inscription, comparing to other legit examples it’s looks spot on but that’s just imho

I like this dagger!

Just need to see a close-up of the motto (same scale as the dedication): texture of the etching must be exactly the same.

So far, your chance is 95% that the dagger is all authentic in my opinion.

The benchmark is "4", last picture: that is another good sign!

Also note that the "small smooth tail" mark (this one) is rarer that the "small serrated tail" mark on SA Rohm daggers.

I would not worry about that lack of a gruppe mark. But get the experts' opinion on the Rohm inscription for sure. What I see of the dagger looks good to me.

i like the Rohm dedication. It's what I expects to see on a original by Eickhorn.

Following on Serge M.'s comment regarding the 'missing' SA-Gruppe mark on this piece, another reason for the absence of such a mark may be that this piece was not a part of the original SA dagger orders placed with the Eickhorn firm, and only such large and early orders were coded at the factory, for control purposes. Orders which came in later than the original large orders did not need to be identified to the particular SA Group since they were for smaller numbers of daggers and were easier to monitor at the factory.
