    Unmarked K98 Bayonet

Has anyone ever seen an unmarked K98 bayonet? I've seen one for sale in an auction but it has no markings including the serial number and waffenampts. Was this common or done at all?

    Thanks,
    Cam

It could be a commercial private purchase. I have one in my collection and it is waffen marked under the grips otherwise there is no markings elsewhere. Show some pictures.

More real its a NS party or other security branches contract piece, that was not going per WaA control, germans call them "Behoerden S84/98" private purchase of combat S84/98 i very low possibility.

Also possibly an export contract example, or one that has been reworked? As already mentioned some pictures would help. FP

Not particularly common, from what I can see it's most probably an export example. Others I have seen have had the Waffenamt partially removed, with many still having a bright/polished finish. FP

As no flashguard is most real a export bayonet done on a blank that was WaA proofed 253 speaks for Solingen area post 1937 to 1940. b.r.Andy
