Chained NSKK Rohm dagger for opinions

Hey everyone. Recently this chained NSKK dagger with a Rohm inscription sold in auction at ratisbons. I have heard that the dagger itself seems original but the Rohm inscription is possibly added and is post war. What is the consensus?

Friedrich Herder A.S. isn’t listed amongst the Röhm dagger manufacturers. Recently some full Röhms from this maker appeared simultaneously on the market. But I’ve never seen a full ground or partial Röhm from this maker. So IMHO

I would not want this dagger at all; as a dealer, I assume you are looking to buy or sell it, but I would stay away.

How does the spine of the blade show rub marks from the scabbard yet the overlaid dedication is untouched. If it were mine I'd want a hefty partial refund as the rig itself is great.

I agree with all of the above. No pictures of the proofmarks on the chain which might help in verifying the chain's authenticity. Additionally, I don't remember seeing a blued scabbard on an M36.

As said already, the blade is certainly postwar: Friedrich Herder never made Röhm daggers during the 3R period.
The piece sold for 3300 EUR, that is because the NSKK chained scabbard appears to be period, that represents the value. The blade has none...

Did a chained NSKK dagger actually exist when Röhm was around?
I think it is all put together. Chained daggers were not mentioned in
NSKK regulations before late 1936.

There exist many “field upgrades”: NSKK men could buy the chain in 1936, to upgrade their 1933 dagger, which could be a ground or partial Röhm. Full Röhm daggers are indeed very unlikely.
