The crossguard is a Generic A type, which was used by a lot of smaller cottage type manufacturers. The scabbard with that single screw configuration is a WKC product, however WKC used a slightly different style crossguard.

It looks like a nice unmolested example but I'm sure some of the Army specialists will have better details for yours.

I agree with Billy, the crossguard and pommel are generic A types and the scabbard is WKC. Although WKC are thought to have been the manufacturer of the generic A pommel and guard there is too much of a chance that the scabbard has been switched, and with plenty of army daggers available why take that chance.

Just my opinion but this wave of....this is a parts dagger because it has a part made by so and so and so and so never so in so....is not really accurate. Now I admit before everybody got wise and started looking at who made what there was a lot of parts swapping going on but I also believe it may have happened more than you would think pre May 45. Back in my youth I worked for a farm equipment manufacture and we regularly would get parts form other manufacturers if we ran short on parts we made and they did the same from us. I would bet anything that the dagger manufactures did the same and I believe it is even documented so I wouldn't discount a dagger just because it had a part from a different company.

            Dale,

I'm not saying it's either a good or a bad piece, just identifying parts as they appear since that's what the original poster requested. It's up to him whether it's worthwhile as is or not.

To answer the original questions, its 100% original in all parts and was most probably manufactured this way, but its impossible to narrow it down to a certain maker as the parts used are the generic type that were used by several makers. Its a late period dagger judging by the quality of the grip.

Dagger itself is standard generic type A, but im not shure about scabbard. (Scabbard bands and throat screw are definitely not generic type A standad.)

WKC were the only company to use a single side scabbard throat screw, the screw is also a correct flat head type for WKC.
Loren, can you show the opening to the scabbard throat, is it oval shaped?

                    Hello all
Unfortunately I have no direct photo of the mouth of the scabbard, only this photo I’ve attached below :
AC8E2AB9-EBBD-4769-A7A6-1805FC36822B.jpeg This dagger with porte épée and double suspender was sold at auction in Germany at 360 euros plus cost (22,5 pour-cent ) that is to say 441 euros, quite a low price isn’t it ?. I was not the buyer.

I did not buy it because of your doubts considering it could be a parts dagger.

I would like to find one good complete white grip Heer dagger one day, fingers crossed...

                    regards

                    Loren

I think you made the right decision not to buy it.
