Authentication Dagues SA Carl Julius KREBS

    Hello,
I would like your opinion on this dagger making Carl Julius KREBS.
It is marked on the lower guard of the initials Sw.
    Thanks for your answers.

Looks like a very nice piece! That Krebs maker is listed as a rarity of 7 on the McSAAR scale, so that makes it fairly rare. The Sw group mark on the reverse of the crossguard is a known group mark to that maker. Nice crossgrain on the blade! Very nice SA dagger overall...Congrats!

One question, the eagle seems to you well inserted in the handle.
          Thank you

                  Hello,
I always have a question about the eagle. Behind the head, there must be a metal disc. Because here, I don't know if it's oxidized or if the head rests directly on the wood.
                  Thank you

You have a very beautiful early SA-dagger, congratulations!
If the tips of the eagle's wings are not sticking out of the grip (impossible to see from your frontal pictures) that it is all fine and original.

                    Best regards,

                    Victorman

Lovely blade on your SA dagger, the only thing that bothers me is the gap around the wreath to the wood, i owned one of these early Krebs SAs before & there was no gap !, as far as i can remember.

                          Hello,

I just had the dagger today.

The wing tips of the eagles do not actually come out of the handle.

                            Hello,

In the photo, in macro, the gap actually appeared very important.

With the naked eye, this gap is very small.

Carl Julius Krebs of Solingen is a fairly rarely seen manufacturer of early SA Standard Service Daggers -- rated #7 on the McSARR list. This piece was produced for a member in SA-Gruppe Südwest, headquartered in Stuttgart. Very nice condition.
