                This is why I am interested in the marks. The dagger pictured here (note the rune badge) was dismissed a while back by one commentator on the basis that the guards were obvious fakes made in Spain in the1970s or 80s. Others seemed to agree 20200707_222828.jpg but none had seen the marks or noted that Kober was one of the more creative makers, at least pre-RZM.

                  Kober and some other Suhl makers did have these lower crossguards with the smaller step in them.

                  Would need to see some more pics of the dagger to confirm.

                              Lovingly over-polished blade. A little cross grain remains beneath lower guard.

                              Wear/dinks on edges of scabbard look very convincing but paint touched up.

                              Color of hilt is inside and out.

                              That's about it.
