No, I was only joking. Silver solder is a high temperature brazing alloy of copper and zinc with some silver thrown in. Sometimes the zinc is omitted and there are a number of different alloys available. What I think it might have been cast from is some kind of zinc alloy and plated. But you can’t really tell from appearance alone and it could be something else - which requires a personal examination to determine.
What never ceases to amaze me is that there are some folks bidding on this very obvious postwar fake. Regards, FP
