    Question

I have mounted a K98 bayo on my K98. Since it's one of my nicer bayo's I was wondering if it would have a nasty effect on the blade (I removed the scabbard, looks nicer this way).
Have any of you had bad experiences of leaving blades open in mid air???

Can't think of any bad effects, the release catch spring is slightly compressed but that is all. The only problem might be if your bayonet has composition (plastic) grips, these can deteriorate in sunlight, other than that, a thin film of oil should keep everything in good condition.

If the conditions aren't a threat to the rifle, the bayonet should be okay as well.
