HJ Knife Sheath

I bought a WW1 fighting knife, the pics of the sheath were not too good on the sale, but when it arrived it was obviously not the original sheath for a WW1 knife. Googling around I was able to confirm it is unfortunately a HJ Knife sheath. What threw me a moment was that the leather is Brown.... which led to google again... Almost all have Black leather, Jonhnson has a single one with brown, otherwise you literally have to scroll through hundreds of pics to find any with brown leather... Are they early pieces?

Yes brown leather hangers are found on early hjs,

Wadda Bummer... I only buy WW1 daggers to go with my uniforms... this is obviously not "it"

Maybe you could sell this one & buy a WW1 trench knife scabbard ?

Half my WW1 knives have no sheathes... they are harder to find than the knives... but I will give it a go, thanks for the positive ID!
