    Shooting Association Dagger

    Hello Gents,
Here is an E. Pack shooting ass. dagger. Some moisture must of got to the bottom scabbard fitting causing finish loss and some corrosion which also affected the spine pf blade in that area. Etch appears different that what I have seen on other E. Pack shooting daggers. Looking for some opinions on this dagger. All opinions welcome. Thanks for looking...Jeff

      Hi Jeff

Pack did etch their shooting and hunting daggers with at least 4 different logos, but not this SA style logo.
This SA Pack logo might be the one that is most widely used by forgers worldwide on all kinds of daggers from RAD to Hunting and even HJ Knives.

I would not feel comfortable with this one, not only by its logo

          Gentlemen,

Aside from the concern over the etched Pack logo (one which I dislike myself generally), is there a concern over anything else?

The blade etch itself is nicely done, the grip (which I have seen previously) has the correct celluloid over wood core, and the clamshell device is secured by dual rivets, which is unlike the way known fakes use.

I share your concern but this is the only Pack Rifle Association dagger I have ever seen so it is difficult to find something for comparison. The parts themselves appear period so aside from concerns over the blade logo, it is hard to condemn it outright.

Hello, the troddel/portepee is a faked one too.
              Greetings, daggers.
