Wanted to see if anyone here has knowledge on German made switchblade knives. This blade came with a grouping of a US vet that was a POW at the tail end of the war. The son said that his father had taken it from a dead guard after the camp was liberated.
There is a faint makers mark of a human head and the name "Othello" on the ricasso. I have learned that this was a maker's mark used by Anton Wingen.
The entire piece is of excellent quality and the grips are plastic mother of pearl.
I'm interested to learn more about this piece in particular it's history and input on value.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
