It is a k98 dress bayonet and frog. Normal value would be about $60-$80 (I picked one up at the Dallas show for $65). The frog adds about another $15-$25. If the eagle etched into the metal end of the grip is prewar, it would add value. But it would be hard to prove this happened pre 1945. Nicely done though.

          Italianwarfront,

You have a short model KS98 private purchase bayonet made for NCOs. The Wehrmachtsadler engraved on the pommel was an extra cost option for this particular maker. Having said that, the pommel eagle does not seem to be of the style I associate with Eickhorn pommel etches. Back in the 1970s some fake Eickhorn bayonets were produced with this particular eagle etch but I am uncertain if this is one of those fakes. I hope this helps.

Italienwarfront, having read the comments above, I would like to say that imo it is a typical, with eagle, period (pre `45) manufactured bajonet, and a nice conditioned one. IMO the eagle has all of the typical and known EICKHORN features. These eagles were due to my knowledge neither etched nor engraved but stamped before finishing (nickled) and threfore do have (if original) a very distinct look which I think can see on your excellent pics. For sure you have to hold it in hand to do a final statement but I am quite sur for myself.
            Have sent you a PM.
