    Field Telephone Question

I was recently given a large bundle of what I believe to be WW2 German field telephone wire. Along with it came two FF33 field telephones. All this came from a family of a deceased WW2 veteran. The two strand wires are in a loose twist with one being a dark burgundy a the other black. Each wire is fabric insulated and the wire itself is solid copper. It’s hard to tell, but the total length of wire may be at least 300 feet. So, what do I have and how would you date it’s use? Being bundled as pictured makes me think it may have been takin off a reel.

Can not be sure, but field wires made for this use had often pretty small copper wires, and sometimes steel strands to help it to be strong enough. If each of the 2 wires is solid copper with a diameter of approx 1.4 mm it is probably for power.
How does it look in the end with a little of the insulation removed?

Each wire has a core of solid copper which is tightly wound with what appears to be aluminum.

Then we can be pretty sure, this is made as a phone line.
