    Vermittlungsschnur help!

Just received a Vermittlungsschnur and i plugged it in, it did not work. Any tips on testing what's faulty.

Hi, if you write Vermittlungsschnur, you mean a connection cord ? To connect for example two FF33. There could be many reasons that it not work. It is an original plug or postwar ? is the plug corroded ? Are the 2 cables OK or is one broken ? At first I wouldm proof the plugs and test the cables inside with an Ohmmeter. If this all OK you should check the sockets.

I hope that will help a little and you understood my pidgin english

    Best regards from germany

Its original not corroded and I tested the the cables and only one seemed to work. my new problem now is getting the rubber to move down to check the connections to the plugs.

The metal ring to where the spring is fixed is threaded, unscrew, and pull the rubber/plastic part back.

I tried that but the plastic seems to be stuck.

Thare's two notches at the other side. Take a small wooden stick - match for example - and try to apply force from each side through that notch. Use small hammer or similar and slowly knock the plastic down, from one notch, then
from another, then again from first etc.
