    2.4 NC28 Battery Box

I would like to identify the use and reason for the following "things" attached to this box. Post for leather strap?, Loops for leather/equipment straps, blocks of wood on each side, why does one side have noches, and why the metal studs on each side?

Vehicle use?, attaches to field gear?

Top of box embossed with 2.4 NC 28, the back pack radio...uses two of these batteries.

It was designed to be used with the Feldfunksprechers, the cutouts in the wood of the battery box fit around the ridges on the box of the Feldfunksprecher. Two straps with hooks were designed to be fitted to the screws on the side so that the box could be attached to the Feldfunksprecher but none have ever been found with the original straps fitted. The boxes were never finished and never left the factory. You can see a recreation here: https://www.radiomuseum.org/forumdat..._rev05_1_V.pdf

Most backpack radios only used a single 2.4NC28.
