Hello,

I collected this nice device in Ciney.

Verteiler kasten for four guns and KommandoGerät.
Another cabling nightmare as each pin is connected to a kind of switch/fuze combination. Those fuzes are probably hard to find today ....
Also includes the telephony link, like found on heavy flak guns.
I assume it was used with a battery of 88, 105 or 128 guns ?

The fuse is very similar to thermic fuse using in German electromechanical automatic central exchange

Hello folks,

I'm trying to identify the various connectors.

The big 46 pins for transmitting aiming and fuze setting data from KdoG to guns.
The 2 pins for power from/to battery (36v volts) and power from/to KommandoGerat (110 AC).
One for plugging a micro/headset.
The round one with 10 side contacts I cannot figure out its use.

Most doc I could find only refer to the early systems with a 104 pins connector.

Hello folks,

The top of the frame with fuse holders rotates up to allow tinkering with the insides.
The bottom of the box unfortunately caved in at some moment in history and blocked the rotation.
I had to unhinge it so I could access. There are two frames screwed to the bottom: one is a simple cable distributor, the other one is a bakelite plate holding a 50 ohms resistor and a 54 ohms capsule similar to the FF33 hearing one. The bakelite was broken whenever the bottom caved in.
I removed the remaining bakelite frame pieces and bumped the bottom back to about its original level. The top frame now freely rotates.
I will keep on with cleaning all the external plugs contacts and restore the bakelite frame.
And looking for the corresponding 46 pins Renkstecker to complete the display.
If anyone has one to trade/sale/donate

Anyone knows the purpose of this 10 pin plug ?

I think I have some of the funny round plugs with the side contacts, I will let you know when I find them back...

Any idea why there would be a speaker mounted in the box?

Well,

I assume that the Verteiler being located far from both the guns and the KdoG, it is used when setting up the connections or for fault finding ???? Would be redundant with the microphone/speakers connection box located on the side tough...
I'm on the hunt for the Ubertragungsgerät 37 manual, expecting to find more info in it.

Regarding the round plug, pins 9 and 10 are linked to the micro/speaker box on the side, so looks like some telephony going trough it.

Hello,

I'm wondering if the flak 88/37 and above had some kind of SchleifringUbertrager to pass signal data from the connector on the platform to the Ubertragungs37 displays ?
The flak 88/18 did not as there was a limit of 2 complete turns to avoid breaking the cables.

Not really a comms question, but don't know where else to post it.

Hello folks,

Thanks to Tornfuté, I now have some Renkstecker 46 pin connectors.
Still looking for more. Will post pics when all cleaned up.
Those were using a 20mm diameter cable with about 50 conductors in it...
I guess those will be extremely difficult to find in the original form.
Maybe building from a 25 pairs data cable ???

Hello,

Some pictures of the connected renkstecker.
There are two models: a full metal one and a probably later model with a bakelite body.

Two late models connected to gun 3 and 4 output. Those are complete with protecting cover attached.


One early model connected to Kommandogerät input, missing end cap and protection cover.

Hello,

Back to the 10 side pins round connector.
After some doc digging, I found some extracts defining those as telephony backup connection.

I currently have the built-in male and female models, as well as male cabled plugs.
I could not find any picture of the female cable plug, that should exists as there are male built-in connectors.

Anyone has info on these ????
