    New generator: Elektromaschinensatz 3d 220/380

I bought a new addition to my fleed of german generators:

Elektromaschinensatz 3d 220/380 from 1942 with FL number 68371, so probably used on an airfield somewhere.
The thing is huge, and weighs over 100 kilo. It was functioning, but has some ignition problems, so I have to take that piece apart.

    does someone know this type?

    Best regards Sven

      What was it used for?

Probably it was used as a general power supply unit in workshops etc. Fl68360 to 68499 are "Kraft und Arbeitsmaschinen"..

Not a lot of field radio equipment needs 220/380, although some could be powered from 220 using mains power supplies. I would think 220/380 is more use for heavy power tools etc using three phase motors.

I guess 220v was for lighting, 380v for machinery.

                      Hello,

for me looks like the WL pendant to the WH Breuer WG 3000

                      best regards

This is all I have for the moment:

                          <a href="http://s672.photobucket.com/user/Funksammler/media/Fl%20numbers_zpsg0agwenj.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/Funksammler/Fl%20numbers_zpsg0agwenj.png" border="0" alt=" photo Fl numbers_zpsg0agwenj.png"/></a>

I do have a folder with Luftwaffe Airfield equipment catalogue somewhere, when I find it I will see if there is more info in there...

                          regards,

Svenpanzer, can you also show the connectors without protective cover?

This generator has the same set of connectors.

The lichtsteckdose is a normal 220Volt socket, I also have an original plug with the generator, it has the flat pins, normal for wartime 220V plugs.
I also have an 20 meter cable with the same bakelite plugs and covers, this one is DDR I think (normal pins in the plug and the dot in the P of the bakelite mark, MP in cirkel)

As soon as I'm in my storage area I will shoot a picture of the kraftsteckdose socket.

                              best regards Sven
