1945 Panzer Headset with off markings

    Hey guys...

    I have a late-war 1945 Dfh. b set...

The odd thing is the leather padding is not there. Actually looks like it was never installed.

Heavy wear on the headband, showing it was worn quite a bit without the leather....amd it is hand-painted with the following:

    30/S.62

This is on the top of the headband, as well as the inside...

Does that mean anything to anyone?

The padding was indeed omitted from very late war examples. The 30/S.62 might be a unit marking.

    regards,

      Ja...

I presumed it was some sort of unit marking...just no idea what as it does not seem familiar at all...

I am afraid the 2 pin connector is post war Czech provenience - common for headsets used in Czechoslovak Army.
The thin brown cable seems to me simmilar to civilian headsets cables - too vulnerable for military use.

Not sure if I agree...I have many German headset with this plug.

Cable is the same thickness as on all my other German headsets...

These came out of a collector estate in France.

Cable is the same thickness as on this one...

Do some more research, this is a perfect example of a german plug. cable also looks nice.

I also agree, both cable and plug look correct to me also...but panzer headset's cable usually has a leather cover just where they join ¡nto the earphone. It could be that this one never had it, due to being very late war, or because the cable has been replaced.
