Not a field telephone. Ka Spü. Vest.

I have got this - to me unknown german geräte - which is dug up during an extension of a parking place in a danish barrack. This barrack was used extensively by the whermacht during the war.

The geräte is contained in a field telephone and marked with "Ka Spü. Verst."

I has taken som damage from the long stay in the ground, but as you can see on the photos - there is 3 P2000 tubes and extensions to "Fernhörer" and "Suchspule".

I think it is a type of amplifier - at least if you translate the markings: Kabel Spüle Verstärker.

    Any suggestions?

It looks like part of a cable search apparatus (Kabel Spür Verstärker). The "Suchspule" only has two connections, so it has to be a passive rather than an active detector. So it either picked up the 50 Hz mains frequency or it consisted of two units, the other of which was connected to the cable and injected a signal.

We discussed a similar apparatus, the "Kabelsuchgerät 37", some years back on the forum: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=cable+search

Yours does seem to have an extra valve and it mentions "Spüren" rather than "Suchen" so perhaps it is just for "sensing" 50 Hz buried cables.

Yes, 3 x P2000 valves (look at the photos of the valves - they have white markings).
