New find: fernbesprechung for radio

This set came frome the area of Eindhoven and was possibly found near a FLAK position. After 40 years the old man decided to sell it on internet.
It didn't came cheap (a lot of bidders) but I think it's a nice set and worth the extra TLC that it needs.
At one time the man decided to cut a meter from the cable to use it on a phone transformer. In this process the metal piece of the male plug got lost. I still have the prongs and the cut off piece of cable with transformer, so this can be nicely restored since I already located a nice black plug.

Also nice to see, that it came with two Hap 2 handsets. One used on the box and one used on the cable reel. The bell is ringing and everything seems OK.

The only things missing are the metal handle for the reel and the metal storage box. these where never with the set as it was all found in the field during/after the war.

Now I have to save some money for a nice Torn. fu

Nice find! Best to paint a suitable connector black yourself as chances are slim to find an original black one. There was only a single HAP 2 used with the Fernbespreching; at the radio's end, the operator used his standard headphones and microphone. If you can't find a suitable Torn.fu, you can always opt for a 15 W.S.E.b, as it fits with this set also!

What's the Dfh headphones models?

These are model a's. One is mint and the other is missing the headband, one side is also missing the prongs to fit in the headband. They have nice crisp WaA stamps.
I guess they came with the initial radio, since the radio was maybe to heavy to take, the man only took the stuff that came with it

I'm currently restoring the cable. There are four wires in there, red, white, blue and black. The prongs are numbered 1 to 5. White is 1, black is 2, blue is 4 and red is 5. Number 3 isn't used.

Now i have a problem:
The male piece that goes into the little control box is up side down. 1 goes to 1, 2 to 2, etc, but then the earthing pin is in the way. If I remove the earthing pin and put the plug in, everything works (the bell is ringing if I turn the crank on the control box).
If I put it in with earthing pin, so upside down, it doesn't work (pin 1 is connected to hole 5, pin 2 to hole 4, etc.)

Does more sets have this? Or are they using plugs without earthing pins and upside down is the correct way?
(I hope the whole story is clear)

It is not an earth pin, it is a locking pin to prevent transmitter (S) and receiver (E) power supply plugs being switched inadvertently. Just move the locking pin from the S to the E position and all will fit correctly.

Perfect, learned something new

Still strange, the small screw has been for ages in the S hole, so this wrong combination must be like it was in the war (there is still locking lacquer over the small screw and Bakelite)
