    Feldfernsprecher 33 plug

    Hello

Here comes the plug I have on my field phone from 1935. It is made of aluminium / zinc. Could you confirm metallic plugs are early ones and the later ones are made of bakelite ?

As a rough guide the metal ones are early and the bakelite ones are later. Sometimes the plugs have a Wa.A or a Siemens internal code but are normally found unmarked.

The bakelite ones are often marked with the year of manufacture, I think the unmarked ones are probably post war manufacture.

With hundreds of thousands produced, different manufacturers may have changed at different times, using whatever variation they could get supplied.

    regards,

Let me add a warning that there are also metal plugs without any markings or schematic with slightly rounded corners. I am told these are probably Czech manufacture and not WW2 German.

      regards.

Early German ones are made of brass plated with cadmium.
