    Bedienungsteil b

I just bought some communication stuff and with it came a mint bedienungsteil b.
I thought they all had the warning Feind hört mit! but this one doesn't have it on the metal strip over the two turn knobs.
Does that make that an early or a late piece?
And with which Feldfu where these issued?

    Thanks alot!

(I can post pictures later on, if wanted)

    best regards Sven

The Bedienungsteil b was for the Feldfunksprechers. A quick overview:

      Bedienungsteil a: Torn.Fu.h, ha
      Bedienungsteil b: Feldfu.b, b1, b2, c, f, h
      Bedienungsteil c: Torn.Fu.g
      Bedienungsteil d: TFuG.i

All the Bedienungsteil b I have seen are with the "Feind hört mit!" warning, so it would be interesting to see.

There are two possibilities: 1) it is a very early prototype example or 2) it is post war modified.

This rather unclear photograph copied from an early manual appears to show a Bedienungsteil.b without the "Feind hört mit!" script and a narrower central ridge:

      <a href="http://s672.photobucket.com/user/Funksammler/media/100C_zpsqioxa9b9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/Funksammler/100C_zpsqioxa9b9.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 100C_zpsqioxa9b9.jpg"/></a>

So please do try and post some pictures so we can compare it with the above photograph.

      regards,

      Funksammler

        Thanx!
        Very interesting.

Here are 2 pictures, I think the front metal piece is repainted but you should see remains of the text feind hort mit cause it is engraved? The screws are turned loose some times in their life.
It is stamped with white paint, WAa 35 and A5

        best regards Sven

It looks very much like the "Feind hört mit!" has been ground off. You can clearly see filing marks and the hight of the "ridge" is reduced from normal. Many Feldfunksprechers were used post war and in some cases the radio's were de-militarised. I guess your Bedienungsteil comes from an example taken into civilian service where the "Feind hört mit!" was deemed inappropriate!

The likelihood that it would have been a surviving prototype would have been extremely small and I would have expected the metal cover to be shaped slightly differently.

So I do think this one is post war modifed.

          regards,

            Thanks a lot!
I cleaned the metall with aceton and indeed it is grinded. I can see traces of the original letters.

Very funny they took of the text but the eagle with swastika is still there

Now I have to look for an original plate, or sell it to someone who wants to restore his. Beside the lettering it is in perfect condition.
What would be a fair price?

            Best regards Sven

Yes, its clearly visible that the area where the Feind hört mit! must be has inconsistent height, look how thin it is at the right side of the adjustment knob.

Probably the set was used only without the remote control function, so the visual
appearance was important and they left the markings on the other side intact. In soviet block countries i have seen that they took out all the markings in the foreign language as this was not ideologically appropriate.

Which Feldfu you have to go with the remote control, Svenpanzer?

Here is also Bedienungsteil without Feind hört mit, but only until the cleaning

There happens to be a Beindenungsteil b offered on Ebay right now which will give you an idea of current value (with "Feind hört mit!"): http://www.ebay.de/itm/Feldfu-h-Orig...item2ee0ae31ae
