    36v 500 Hz

    Hello,

Some luftwaffe instruments require a 36v 500 Hz input. Their connectors are marked with a R S T 3 phases on 3-4-5 pins on the connector.

    Any idea what the R S T means ?
How do you measure a 36v 500 Hz output reliably ?

    Thanks

'R-S-T' was a German standard used to identify each of the three lines (not 'phases') of a three-phase system. Other countries use different standards, including A-B-C, 1-2-3, red-yellow-blue, blue-black-grey, L1, L2, L3 etc.

Here you see one of those RST testers.

Those systems are used for repeating angle , it. ´s used in radar antenna
To synchronize the sweep of the ppi and the radar antenna , german
System like this is used with the fug 10 , for trail antenna , funker
Turn knob on sch kasten and at the bottom of airplane , antenna is
Unwind same lenght as indicated on sch kasteb fbg3 .
Usualy marked RST , for system. But also U And V for powering
All systems requiring. Angle reapeater use it .
Gyroscope require usually 36 v. 375 hz like in german tank Ku3
PSU, in aircraft it allow to reduce transformer size hence , reducing
      Weight .

        Hello

About rotating dc/ac 32v 500hz 3 phases : you also have an Italian company that has built this type converter "micotecnica"

you have also an other standard 72v 500hz but 2 phases (diphase in french) and frequency is stabilized by magnetic amplifier.
this technology are using in rocket V2 for gyroscopes

Indeed R,S and T on the 36V 500Hz "Umformers" are the three phases creating of the supply system of gyroscopic instruments (autopilot systems, turn indicators, artificial horizons etc.). The three windings in the "Umformer" are typically placed in a "Delta" configuration, those in the gyroscope in a "Y" configuration, with the star point connected to earth.

You can measure them with a modern multimeter (in general they should have no problem rectifying 500Hz), otherwise you can use an oscilloscope. Note that when measuring the "Umformer" on it's own, you will have to measure between the phases as the earth point is "floating". Only when connected to a gyroscope will the three phase system be earthed. I can't quite remember if the 36 Volt given is the phase to phase or the earth to phase voltage, the former is a factor 1.732 (sqrt 3) larger than the latter.

          regards,

          Funksammler

I did a quick measurement, indeed the 36 Volts is the phase to phase voltage. Earth to phase is about 20 Volts.

I search for one selsyn , like in FBG3 for the trailing antenna
Markings are , X,Y,Z for phase system , and U ,V for powering

                  Hello Tornfuté

the AC voltage to the selsyns is supplied from the sender dynamotor generator of fug10

                  the frequency is 250 hz

you have a video about this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oTE02WLr-g

Hello pierre about fbg3 you have some informations in : http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru....php?p=5248962

Funksammler give some technicals informations : 110v 250hz : " power to the synchro system. It operates on 110 Volt, 250 Hz which is generated by the transmitter rotating power supply U10S"

                    Regards

Hello rv12p2000 thanks , but i have T4005/2 Fug 10 since at least 20 years
I have read details like this , before i am member of this forum
Fs or you tube details are interesting for all people who want to
Know more on the Fug X set .
Any help is always welcome and better then nothing or silent

Are you looking for a complete unit or just the selsyn parts? I may have some odd bits somewhere... Can you post a picture of the bit you are missing?
