Wartime civilian intercom system?

Hello all,

I picked up this pair of phones because the handsets are identical to those on the FF33, just without the Waffenamts. I am guessing that they are prewar or wartime production, and are some sort of intercom system. Each box is labeled A and B, respectively and have a wiring diagram. However, shouldn't there be some sort of battery to make these run?

Does anyone have experience with these? I haven't tried to wire them up yet, but I may this weekend. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Funksammler: LOL you're right, not the most exciting but like David said you must admit it's intriguing! The pair was very cheap, and I originally thought I might salvage parts for field phones, but I think I might like to see if I can get the pair to work.

The bakelite MPD code says E7/S. The E7 code is the designation for "Gebr. Spindler Betr.-Kom.-Ges.,KG, Köppelsdorf i. Thür." or Spindler Brothers. The S denotes Phenolic resin with wood filler (sawdust).

Are the handsets wartime marked as well? There should be MPD marks inside the ear and mouth pieces. Also what do the microphone and speakers look like. If they are are all wartime, it would be intersting to see.

Power by battery which will allow these to work is where the red arrow is placed.

The ear and mouth pieces are MPD marked also. The earpieces are marked 31/CW/V.Wz 429
The mouthpieces are marked 31/bl/VWz 427
The rings that hold the mouthpieces are marked 57/bl

I will check these codes in the book later today.
